An elegant Swedish embroidery cushion, decorated with a large red geometric pattern that brings color and character to the gray fabric.
Made on a Zweigart Bastia canvas, the embroidery uses DMC mouliné 666. The thread is worked in double with a straight stitch, following the traditional principle of Swedish embroidery.
The pattern plays with the repetition of horizontal lines and diagonal points that organize into geometric shapes. Their succession creates a rhythmic and symmetrical decor, with a very beautiful visual effect once the embroidery is repeated along the height of the cushion.
The intense red of the thread contrasts with the sobriety of the gray fabric and gives this model a look that is both traditional and contemporary. It is also a beautiful example of how Swedish embroidery can transform a simple cushion into a true decorative element.
The file is not limited to the diagram: it also explains the making of the cushion. The embroidered front is assembled with two pieces of fabric forming the back. The seams, the stitches, and the finishing of the corners are explained to allow for the complete realization of the work.
A lovely project to decorate a sofa, an armchair, or a bedroom while rediscovering a classic use of Swedish embroidery in home textiles.
