A lovely Swedish embroidery brooch, presented in a mini embroidery hoop to create a small textile accessory that is both graphic and original.
The pattern is made on a Zweigart Fein Aida fabric with DMC mouliné thread 797, in a beautiful shade of deep blue. The thread is used double to give more presence to the stitches and highlight the design on the fabric.
The diagram plays on the alternation of small horizontal and vertical stitches. Their regular repetition gradually forms a geometric pattern that gives a true impression of weaving, characteristic of Swedish embroidery.
Here, no beads or sequins: it is solely the interplay of the thread, the fabric, and the repetition of the stitches that creates the decoration. This simplicity particularly highlights the construction of the pattern and allows one to appreciate the finesse of this technique.
Once finished, the embroidery is placed in a 5.5 cm round mini hoop, which serves both as a frame and a support to transform the work into a small brooch.
Worn on a jacket, a coat, a bag, or another textile accessory, this creation allows for the use of traditional Swedish embroidery in a decidedly contemporary way.
