Tonkin Thread – Shiny and Boucle Embroidery Thread

The Tonkin Thread is a shiny embroidery thread made in France, particularly appreciated for its luminous appearance and slight relief. Its original construction combines a fine strip of golden Lurex with textured polyester, creating a decorative, flexible, and pleasant-to-work-with boucle thread.

Composed of 4 separable strands, the Tonkin Thread allows for easy adjustment of the thread thickness and the intensity of the effect achieved depending on the fabric, the stitch used, and the desired result. For cross-stitch and many embroidery projects, it can notably be used with two strands.
