The Oval Silk™ by Au Ver à Soie is a pure natural silk thread, made in France according to the historical know-how of the Au Ver à Soie house.

Composed of very loosely twisted silk filaments, it has an almost flat structure that gives it an exceptional shine and a particularly smooth and luminous appearance. Light reflects directly off the silk fibers, allowing for refined embroidery with deep and vibrant colors.

The Oval Silk stands out from twisted silk threads due to its great softness and incomparable shine. It allows for delicate and precise stitches while offering excellent decorative power.

It is also possible to separate and take a few filaments to obtain an extremely fine thread, particularly suitable for meticulous works and very fine supports.

Usage Tips

Since the Oval Silk is very loosely twisted, it requires more delicacy than a classic embroidery thread. It is advisable to work with relatively short lengths, about 40 to 45 cm maximum, to preserve the surface and shine of the silk.

Also, be sure to let the thread lay naturally and avoid excessive twisting during embroidery.
